GO GO CURRY (NYC)

Follow-up to our Katsu Curry post below:

For those Boricuas reading from NYC or going there in the future, the best Katsu Curry outside of Japan (and our personal moncheo kitchen) can be found at GO GO CURRY in New York City on 38th street b/w 7th & 8th Avenues.

Their website just might induce seizures, but it's worth a visit on its own. GO means 5 in Japanese, where their name is an homage to #55 Hideki Matsui from the YANKEES. Saying they love Hideki at Go Go Curry is putting it lightly. Every time Hideki scores a home run, Go Go Curry gives a 55cent discount the next day. They also offer free Toppings on the days of the month with a 5 in it (5, 15, 25). This past May 5th (5/5 get it?) they had every dish for $5 to celebrate their birthday. Discounts or not, their value is incredible. Great portions for not too much $$$ every day. Pic on the left shows what moncheoPR ate when they visited GO GO CURRY Winter '07. Cute non-skid strips on their trays, huh?

So next time you're in NYC, go to GO GO CURRY but GO HUNGRY!
